Here is the finished painting, titled "Source" that has taken me all summer and then some to finally complete. It was done using decalcomania - a surrealist technique and is being included in a show next month consisting of instructor and student work.  The experience will be great, just setting a goal and realizing it.  I've not had anything in a show since high school, which was 30+ years ago. eek.

I made this shrunken head tiki talisman for my brother's birthday to go with his dashboard zombie gift.  He likes this type of thing.  I sure hope it is not like that Brady Bunch Hawaii episode though.  It's resin poured in a dollar store ice cube mold so hopefully no bad vibes!

A new feature in the pond. I had originally made a little waterfall bowl from a cement cast hosta leaf that was there for about 3 years or so. I broke part of it last year and sadly finished it off last week when I was cleaning the pump:( but I had this bottle and thought hey, why not?! and it is so cool, if I say so myself!

Had some slumped bottles that had some issues so they were perfect for this project!

**An update a year later (June 2013).. these are great unless there are gale-force winds. Repeated smashing against the house is not good and I've had to replace 2.  Part of it is there is no telling what stress the glass had on it before and it seems to have a history so, part house smashing, part hidden stress. Overall though, very enjoyable.  I think the next design will require some tweaking, as my rock tumbler gets testy when it has too much glass to tumble! Man, these rock stars...divas! LOL

Ended up taking off the CD/wind catcher and that seems to have calmed things down a bit, as the slightest breeze set things in motion.  I'd use that again though, just on a less fragile chime material.

Here is a super-cute purse upcycled from my sunglasses case. It is just big enough to hold my phone, ID, lipstick, and some cash.  Works great for when you don't want to keep track of a purse.

Rhubarb

Well, the rhubarb is up! or as we say here rhubaaaahhb.  All things rhubarb..pie, jam, sauce, bread, wine.  Wicked good for you, Deah.  It's an acquired taste, like Moxie!

A couple of years ago, I made a cement bird bath from a rhubarb leaf.  This could be the year I actually paint it or whatever and put it out for the birds. But, I think Timmy has other ideas!

clouds!

Saw these clouds this morning and just had to take pictures..outside.. in my bathrobe. Just had to.  So pretty! I'm referring to the clouds of course :)  Always very inspiring to me and I like that they are always changing and on the move. Probably should have been a meteorologist.  No, I take that back. I shouldn't have. I took an intro to meteorology course in college and my eyes glazed over soooo

I forgot I liked to paint!

Since I haven't painted in a few years and will be taking a class starting the end of the month, I thought probably it was time to find the paints!  Thinking I'd just maybe see what colors did what again, it was surprising to me that this happened.  It's a little 4" x 4" -ish painting. I forgot how enjoyable it is to paint... and thankful to now remember.  Do something you enjoy as often as you can so you don't forget.

Are these Twilight?!

..I have no idea! But I like them.  Head on over to www.bsueboutiques.com and get yourself some fabulous brass stampings to fab into something lovely!  For these I modified chandelier earring type connectors by snipping off a couple of loops, sanded to bring up some highlights, tinted some 2-part epoxy with alcohol ink for the centers, and added some chain and pearls.
before and after shot...yes I see the jump ring needs closing!
